Rainfall Coil Vessel: Wood Soda Fired
This one of a kind coil handbuild vessel is made by wrapping long coils of clay and using my fingers to pull the pieces down and together leaving that recognizable texture. I was so excited to get this piece in particular out of the kiln when I saw all of those deep moss greens and jory clay reds!
This piece is atmospheric fired in a wood soda kiln, meaning the surface of the pot has accumulated wood and soda ash giving you all that juice and texture! I cannot control the color or texture of the surfaces making each piece completely unique based on where in the kiln and how much ash interacted with the pot. Magic right?!
All items in this shop are lovingly handmade by Benjamin Cahoon near Portland, Oregon and therefore may have slight imperfections, from my hands. If you’re looking for something different try a machine! <3
